Banners

• Cut 26 5 ½-by-8 ½-inch sheets of white paper and trace the outline of an alphabet letter in the center of each, using a pencil and large stencil. Creatively incorporate an animal with each letter while looking at animal photos for reference. Draw a snake wrapping itself around “S” or a cat hanging from the top of “C.” Color in each animal letter pencil drawing with markers. Add glitter or googly eyes before you laminate each sheet. Punch two holes at the top of each sheet and run a long strand of ribbon through them, starting with “Z” and going backwards alphabetically. Slip large decorative beads in between each letter, and hang the finished banner along a wall.
  
  

Blocks

• Paint each side of five unfinished wooden blocks a different color with acrylic paint. Draw each alphabet letter on construction paper and cut each out. Make the letters various colors, approximately half the height of the blocks. Print out a color photo of each animal, with the animal nearly filling a square side. Cut around each animal and glue each inside one of the painted block sides with rubber cement. Glue the corresponding letter on top. Feel free to overlap parts of animal cutouts on top of letters. With 30 square sides and 26 letters, you must place the cutout shape of a star, diamond, flower or circle on one side of four of the blocks instead of an animal or letter.
  
  

Magnets

• Paint each unfinished wooden letter of the alphabet a different color with acrylic paint. You can find wooden letters at your local craft store. With colored craft foam sheets, paint, markers, scissors, googly eyes and glue, transform each letter into an animal, using photos for reference. For example, paint the letter “G” yellow and glue brown craft foam spots throughout with the addition of a giraffe craft foam head at the upper tip. Attach a magnet to the back of each animal letter for refrigerator decorations.
  
  

Wall Hangings

• Cut 26 equal-sized squares of white felt paper that fit a colorful craft foam letter inside with a few inches around all sides. Print out a photo of each animal that nearly fills a square. Using graphite transfer paper, trace around the outline of each animal to copy the silhouette images onto varying colors of construction paper. Cut out each silhouette and glue each inside a square. Glue the corresponding craft foam letter on top. Attach the lettered squares equal distances apart in alphabetical order onto a large sheet of colored felt paper, starting 6 inches from the top. Create six horizontal rows of four squares and two squares in the middle of a seventh bottom row. Staple a loop made at the top that wraps around a long horizontal wooden dowel. For hanging, tie one end of a strip of ribbon at each end of the protruding dowel.
