- 1). Study various art forms of tribal earrings. Begin by choosing the design you wish to create. If this is your first time making earrings, keep the design simple to alleviate any frustration.
- 2). Develop your design for your earrings. Lay the beads out in the order you want them to appear on the earrings for reference.
- 3). Measure and cut a 1-foot piece of the fishing wire.
- 4). Feed one bead through the wire to one end, and with the needle-nose pliers, bend the wire around the bead to hold it secure. Hook the brass ear wire through the first bead to secure into the earring.
- 5). Add the beads to the wire in your desired design. When you reach the end of a row (such as 4 or 5 beads deep), bend the wire down and to the opposite side the last bead was placed. Continue to place beads onto the wire in the desired order to create your design.
- 6). Repeat Step 5 until your design is complete. Use the wire cutters to trim off the excess wire, but leave about 3/4 inch of wire to finish the earrings. Use the needle-nose pliers to bend the remaining wire around the last bead to close the earring.
- 7). Repeat all steps to create a second matching earring.
