- 1). Turn your washing machine on to the hottest water temperature. If you're only dyeing one jersey, set the water level to "small."
- 2). Pour 8 oz. of black fabric acid dye directly into the hot water once it fills the washer. Depending on the brand of dye used, you may need to add 2 tbsp. of salt to the water, according to product instructions.
- 3). Place your jersey in the washing machine and allow it to "dye" for the remainder of the cycle.
- 4). Remove the jersey from the washing machine and rinse it under warm water.
- 5). Hand wash the jersey with warm water and a mild detergent until the water runs clear. Dry the jersey as usual.
