- 1). Lay the crutch pad on top of the cardstock. Trace completely around the axillary pad with the marker, including the bottom section between the crutch's vertical pieces.
- 2). Remove the crutch pad from the cardstock. Draw around the first tracing, adding a 1/4-inch space around the edges.
- 3). Cut the second tracing out with scissors.
- 4). Lay the cardstock template on the fleece fabric. Trace the template with the marker. Move the template and make a second tracing on the fleece.
- 5). Cut out both fleece tracings.
- 6). Hold the fleece pieces together so that the edges line up evenly. Sew around the top and sides of the shapes with the needle and thread. Make the stitches about 1/4-inch in from the edge, leaving the bottom side open. Turn the piece inside-out.
- 7). Cut a piece of elastic tape that is twice the length of one of the bottom sides. Hold the tape inside the bottom of the cover and stitch it into place. The tape should be about 1/4-inch in from the edge and cover the entire bottom opening.
