- 1). Drill a hole through the center of the 1 1/2-inch long side of the short pieces of wood, and 3/4-inches away from the ends of the 12-inch pieces of wood. Lay the long pieces of wood parallel to each other on your work surface and place the short pieces of wood between them so that all the holes line up. Put a bolt through all holes at the same time and tighten with nuts. You now have two long sides, two short ends and a center space for the knitted product to come through the loom.
- 2). Find the center of the long pieces of wood and pound a nail into the wood on top of the wood, close to the center space where the knitted product will come through. Pound the nail at a slight angle going outward and allow it to stick up out of the wood by at least an inch and a half. Attach other nails similarly every quarter-inch along both sides of the center gap.
- 3). Decorate with paints or stickers to make your knitting frame more cheerful. Wait until the loom is completely dry from decorating before attempting to knit with it.
