- Download the Device Data & Firmware Level Detector from the Support page of the Pioneer Electronics U.S.A. website to your Windows desktop.
- Run the installer, then click on the button "Display IDE/SCSI Device Info."
- From the list "Device Type, Vendor ID, Product ID, Product Rev., and Vendor Info," note the values for "Product Rev." That is the current firmware version for the optical drive.
