- 1). Click the Windows 2000 "Start" button and select "Run." Enter "regedt32" into the text box and click "OK." This opens the Windows 2000 registry editor.
- 2). Click the "Restore" button. Click the "Browse" button and point to the location of your registry backup. Click "OK."
- 3). Click "Yes" in the confirmation window. It takes several minutes to replace the registry files. After it completes, reboot your computer.
