- Allow for empty space on the edges of all the pages of the booklet. There should be a uniform 3 mm space both at the top and the bottom of the pages. There should also be a 3 mm space on the right side edge of the odd numbered pages of the booklet, and on the left side of the even numbered pages of the booklet. This will remove the possibility of parts of the text or image being clipped during the printing of the booklet. This is a 3 mm bleed.
- The width of the individual pages of a CD booklet should be 120.5mm. Including a 3 mm bleed on the pages right and left side edges, the pages should be a width of 123.5 mm each. When the CD booklet is spread, double page, the combined width of the two pages should be 247 mm, which includes a 3 mm bleed of the right side edge of the right page and the left side edge of the left page.
- A CD booklet's height should be 119.5.mm. With a bleed of 3 mm at both the top and the bottom of the page, this height should then be 125.5 mm. The height of the pages of the booklet will be the same for all of the individual pages, and also when the pages are spread into a double page. Though the height and the width of the booklet are not the same, there is little difference that the booklet will look even-sided.
- For a CD booklet, there needs to be a compromise between the number of pages and between how comfortably it fits into a CD case. A booklet should be interesting for a fan, but it shouldn't be something that is so big that it's difficult to put back in its case. Twenty four pages is an ideal size, as it is not too big but is large enough to offer a music fan enough information.
