- 1). Draw a basic pattern on a piece of paper. Your pattern should include the shape of Aang's head and shoulders plus his upper torso and arms. The pattern should be large enough to fit comfortably over your outstretched hand so you can wear it as a puppet later.
- 2). Cut out the pattern outline and pin it onto two sheets of flesh-colored felt fabric layered on top of one another. Make sure to pin through both layers of fabric plus the paper to hold everything together. Cut around the outline using scissors.
- 3). Remove the pattern from the flesh-colored fabric and cut Aang's tunic or torso section off of the pattern. Pin this section of the pattern onto yellow felt fabric and cut it out the way you did in Step 2.
- 4). Remove the pattern from the yellow felt, cut off Aang's forehead arrow and eyes from the pattern and pin them onto blue and white felt pieces, respectively. Cut them out.
- 5). Glue the pieces of the puppet pal together. Place a thin line of glue around the entire perimeter of the main piece to attach it to the other main piece to make the puppet body. Glue the tunic onto the front of Aang and then glue his eyes and arrow to his head. Use fabric paint or a marker to draw the remaining features on your puppet. When everything is dry, he will be ready to play.
