- 1). Locate a Video Electronics Standards Association-compatible wall mount kit built to fit a range of television sets that includes your TV size and weight.
- 2). Place a soft cloth onto a flat surface large enough to hold your TV, and then place the TV face down onto the cloth. Screw the mounting brackets from the mounting kit to the rear of the TV using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
- 3). Position the wall mount against the brick wall where you wish to install the TV. Adjust the position so that the mounting holes rest over bricks and not mortar, preferable the center of the bricks. The bricks supply a more reliable mounting surface than the mortar does. Place a carpenter’s level over the mount to make certain it’s level, then mark the placement of the mounting holes on the bricks with a piece of chalk. Remove the mount from the wall.
- 4). Set the depth of the drill to the same depth as your anchor screws, or mark the screw depth on the masonry bit with a piece of masking tape. Drill holes in the wall at the marked locations on the bricks, using a masonry bit the same diameter as your anchor screws, to the desired depth. Clean out the drilled holes with a nylon brush.
- 5). Place the mount back against the wall with the mounting holes aligned with the drilled holes in the bricks. Screw the mount into place with the anchor screws, tightening them over the mount using a socket wrench. Make certain that you’re using anchor screws rated to support the weight of your TV.
- 6). Lift the TV onto the wall mount, sliding the mounting brackets on the rear of the TV onto the wall mount.
