- 1). Login to Windows XP using the account that you wish to change. Click the green "Start" button.
- 2). Click the "Control Panel," then click on the icon labeled "User Accounts" in the "Control Panel" window that opens.
- 3). Click the green arrow icon next to "Change an account" in the "User Accounts" window. Select your administrator account from the list of accounts on the next screen.
- 4). Click on the "Change my name" link under the "What do you want to change about your account?" text. Type in the name you would like to use for the account in the provided box under the "Type a new name for Administrator" text.
- 5). Click the button labeled "Change Name" at the bottom of the window. Your administrator account name is now changed.
