- 1). Place the cap firmly onto the gel pen. Make sure that the cap is in no way loose, as this could cause the pen to become dry, which could render it unusable.
- 2). Store the gel pens vertically or horizontally. The pens can be placed almost anywhere that other scrapbooking or crafting implements are kept, such as a tin can or desk drawer. If the pen is being stored vertically, situate it so the writing end is pointed down.
- 3). Avoiding roughly dropping the pens into a vertical storage container if this is your preferred method of storage. Dropping it can cause a shock to the gel contained in the pen by disrupting the pen's internal vacuum.
