- 1). Cut four 7 1/2-inch squares of fabric.
- 2). Cut two strips of contrasting fabric, each 4 1/2 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches wide.
- 3). Place one square and one strip right sides together, lining them up along the long edge of the strip and pinning them together. Sew the square to the strip along the long edge. Unfold the fabric and press the seam flat.
- 4). Pin another square to the opposite long edge of the strip, with the fabrics right sides together. Sew the square to the strip along the long edge. Unfold the fabric and press the seam flat.
- 5). Sew the other two squares to the other strip the same way.
- 6). Cut a strip of contrasting fabric that’s 4 1/2 inches wide by 18 1/2 inches tall.
- 7). Place one set of squares and the long strip of fabric right sides together. Pin them together, then stitch the set of squares to the long edge of the strip. Unfold the fabric and press the seam flat.
- 8). Sew the other set of squares to the other long edge of the strip the same way. This will be the front of the criss cross throw pillow.
- 9). Repeat Steps 1 through 8 to make the back of the criss cross throw pillow.
- 1). Turn one edge of the criss cross pillow front over 1/4 inch toward the wrong side. Press the fold flat. Do the same for the back of the pillow.
- 2). Place the front and back of the pillow right sides together. Make sure to line up the folded edges.
- 3). Pin the front and back together along three sides, leaving the side with the folded edges open.
- 4). Sew the front and back of the pillow together along three sides, leaving the side with the folded edges open.
- 5). Turn the criss cross pillow right side out and insert the 18 inch pillow form.
- 6). Hand sew the open edge of the pillow closed using matching thread.
