- 1). Click the "Start" button at the bottom-left corner of the desktop.
- 2). Click "All Programs" and choose "Windows Update" from the list of programs available on your computer.
- 3). Click the "Change Settings" option on the left side of the Windows Update window. A drop-down menu under "Important Updates" will let you select how you want to update your computer. Choose "Update Automatically" from the list of options.
