- 1). Insert the XP CD into your computer's CD or DVD drive and restart the computer.
- 2). Press the "Space," "Enter" or any other key on your keyboard to boot from the CD. Do this once you see the message "Press Any Key to Boot From CD" appear.
- 3). Press the "R" key, type "1," and press "Enter" to load the Recovery Console and boot into your operating system.
- 4). Type "copy drive_letter:\i386\ntldr c:\" and press "Enter." If you are asked to confirm the copy of the file, type "Y" and press "Enter."
- 5). Restart the computer and wait while it boots up normally.
