- 1). Collect scraps of fabric from around your house.
- 2). Trim the scraps of fabric into pieces that measure 2 inches wide and 6 inches long.
- 3). Thread a needle, and sew the ends of the fabric strips together. This will create a long strip.
- 4). Repeat step 3 until you have three long strips.
- 5). Braid the strips of fabric together.
- 6). Coil the braid around in a spiral.
- 7). Pin the spiral using safety pins to prevent it from uncoiling.
- 8). Thread a needle and sew the braid of the coil onto itself, starting in the center and working your way to the outside.
- 9). Remove the safety pins, and place your rag rug onto the floor for use.
