- 1). Close any open windows or programs.
- 2). Right-click anywhere in the taskbar at the very bottom of your desktop and choose "Properties" from the contextual menu that appears.
- 3). Go to the "Taskbar" tab at the top of the properties window.
- 4). Click on the "Customize" button at the bottom of the window. A new window will open with a list of all the programs or items that include event notifications.
- 5). Highlight an item from the list and use the "Behavior" drop-down menu to select the "Always Hide" option.
- 6). Repeat the "Always Hide" option for each additional program in the "Current Items" list you want to stop sending event notifications.
- 7). Hit the "OK" button to save the settings and get rid of all system tray event notifications.
