- 1). Download the Windows product key update tool.
- 2). Press the "Run" button after the download window opens.
- 3). Locate your Windows product key on the CD or DVD software sleeve. It may also be found on the box if you purchased your copy of Windows at a retail store.
- 4). Type the product key in the space provided, then press "Next" to start the update.
- 5). Click "Finish" when the update is complete. Restart your computer.
