- 1). Click "Start" then choose "Run." Type "regedit" and push the "Enter" key.
- 2). Find the key named "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom" in the left side of the window. Locate the "Autorun" subkey in the right side of the window. Double-click the subkey and change the value to 1 if it is not already.
- 3). Browse to the key named "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer" in the left side of the window. Find the "NoDriveTypeAutoRun" subkey and double-click it. Set the "Value data" to 91 and choose "Hexadecimal" as the type.
- 4). Shut down the Registry Editor.
