- 1). Turn off your amp and disconnect the cord that runs from your electric guitar to the amp.
- 2). Use a small wrench to tighten the bolt at the base where the guitar cord plugs into your amp.
- 3). Re-insert the cord into the amp and your guitar, power up the amp and test it. If the buzz persists, move on to the next step.
- 4). Unplug the cord from the guitar to amp and shut the amp off. Unplug the power cord to your amp and flip the amp around. Locate the jack where the guitar cord plugs in.
- 5). Use a wrench to tighten the small round nut that holds the guitar cord amp jack in place. Plug the amp in, reconnect the guitar cord to both the amp and guitar and turn the power on. If this does not work the guitar cord itself should be replaced, but to be sure, perform one more test.
- 6). Plug the cord attached to your guitar into another amp. If it continues to buzz, replace the cord.
