How to Check DirectX Updates

    • 1). Check the current DirectX you are running. Click "Start," "Run" and type in "dxdiag" and press "Enter." A browser window loads, displaying information about DirectX, including the version you are currently running.

    • 2). Navigate to the download link in "Resources." At the top of the page there are two download links. The first is the latest DirectX release notes at the time of publication. This download is not required, but does provide information regarding the latest update. The second link is the latest DirectX download. If this version is newer than what you are currently using, click the download link and wait for the file to download to your computer.

    • 3). Double-click the downloaded file to load the DirectX installation wizard. Accept the end-user agreement, then leave the installation name and location as-is. Click "Install" to install the update on your computer.

    • 4). Restart the system to complete the DirectX update installation.
