- 1). Open the Control Panel by clicking "Start," then "Control Panel."
- 2). Click "Appearance and Personalization" in the Control Panel window.
- 3). Click "Personalization" in the "Appearance and Personalization" window.
- 4). Start Windows Aero by clicking a theme under "Aero Themes" in the "Personalization" window. Windows Aero is disabled when you use a theme under "Basic and High Contrast Themes."
