- 1). Insert the Windows 98 Upgrade Disk into the CD-ROM drive.
- 2). Insert the Windows 98 Startup SE Disk into the floppy disk drive.
- 3). Restart the computer and wait while the Microsoft Windows 98 SE Startup menu is loaded from the floppy disk.
- 4). Select the "Start computer without CD-ROM support" and press the "Enter" key.
- 5). Type "format c:" at the command prompt. A "Warning, All Data on Non-Removable Disk Drive C: Will Be Lost!" will appear. Press the "Y" key to proceed with the format. Press the "Enter" key to begin formatting the hard drive.
- 6). Restart the computer when the format has completed.
- 7). Select "Start computer with CD-ROM support" from the Windows 98 Startup menu and press the "Enter" key.
- 8). Type "E:\Setup" at the command prompt and press the "Enter" key. Read the message that is displayed on the screen and press the "Enter"key to begin the Windows 98 SE installation.
