- 1). Open the Windows Start menu and select "Run."
- 2). Type "control userpasswords2" and click "OK."
- 3). Disable the box labeled "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer." Disable this by removing the check from the check box. If no check exists, leave the box clear. Click "Apply."
- 4). Enter the username and password of the account you want to automatically log on. Click "OK." Click "OK" again to save the changes. Next time you restart the computer, Windows XP will automatically log in to this account.
