- 1). Back up your important files before repairing the operating system.
- 2). Insert your Windows Media installation CD in your computer drive.
- 3). Click "Enter" on the "Welcome to Setup" page. Read the "Microsoft Software License Terms," then click F8.
- 4). Select your most recent installation of Windows XP Media Center, and on your keyboard press "R" for "Repair."
- 5). Follow the on-screen instructions until the repair is complete.
