- 1). Download and install the Messenger Plus! Live plug-in onto your computer (see Resources). Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation process.
- 2). Open the Windows Live Messenger program once the installation of Messenger Plus! is completed.
- 3). Click on the "Menu" button located at the top of the messenger, select "Tools" and then choose "Options."
- 4). Select "Personal" to display the menu contents on the right side of the Options menu window. Enter the colored nickname you wish to display in the box below the "Display Name." Click on "Format Codes" to bring up the formatting option.
- 5). Click on the "T" button and select "Text" to choose the formatting mode. Select a color from the color chart and click "OK." Now your nickname will be displayed in color.
