- 1). Lay the paper so the longer side is horizontal. Measure 8 1/2 inches from the top on each side of the paper with a yardstick, marking the spots with a pencil. Lay the yardstick across the paper at the marks and use it as a guide to draw a straight horizontal line in the center of the paper.
- 2). Cut the paper in half along the line. Measure 4 inches from the left side. Fold the paper vertically along that mark. Flip the paper and fold it in the opposite direction so that the second fold lines up with the edge of the paper. Continue folding accordion-style until you have a folded 4-inch wide stack.
- 3). Place the cookie cutter on top of the folded paper so that the hands touch the sides and trace around it. You can alter the shape a bit if you want, as long as the hands the tips of the feet touch the sides. Alternatively, trace a printed paper template.
- 4). Cut out the negative areas around the figure. Do not cut around the hands and the tips of the feet.
- 5). Unfold the paper. You should have a chain of five paper people. If desired, decorate the people with crayons, paint or markers.
