- 1). Place your hand on top of the fabric with your fingers together and your thumb spread slightly apart from your fingers. Trace around your hand with a piece of chalk, leaving about ½-inch of space between your hand and the chalk line. Repeat with the other hand.
- 2). Cut out the hand shapes and use them as patterns to make identical cutouts from the same fabric.
- 3). Cut two small pieces of fabric, each about 3 1/2 inches square.
- 4). Lay a right and a left hand shape on your work surface, with the wrong side of the fabric facing upward. Set the other two shapes aside for a few moments.
- 5). Lay one square on top of each hand shape. The shape should extend from about mid-palm to mid-fingers. Sew three sides of each square to the hand shapes.
- 6). Flip the shapes over and place the corresponding hand shapes on top. Pin around the fabric, leaving the wrist opening unpinned. Sew around the pin line to join the fronts and backs of the gloves together.
- 7). Cut two pieces of fabric to measure three inches by six inches. Fold each piece in half to make a three-inch square and sew the side seams closed with the good sides facing inward.
- 8). Turn the pouches right side out and fill each of them with about three tablespoons of flax seed. Scent the pouches with a drop or two of peppermint or lavender essential oil (or any other favorite scent).
- 9). Sew the open end of the pouches closed and slide one pouch into the pocket of each glove.
