- 1). Set the Cricut machine on a sturdy table and turn it on. Insert the cartridge into the slot. Select the keyboard overlay that matches the cartridge and set it on the Cricut machine face. The "Stretch the Imagination" cartridge works well for this project. Set the Cricut machine to the "Card" function.
- 2). Adjust the settings (speed and pressure) on the Cricut machine for the thickness and stiffness of the card. Check the manual to determine the right settings for the paper you are using. Lastly, select the setting of the size of the card.
- 3). Select the settings for the Cricut designs that you want to use on the wedding card. Determine which shapes reflect the taste of the couple. Some popular designs for wedding cards include polka dots, bells, hearts, bows and bride and groom shapes.
- 4). Select preprogrammed words or phrases that you want to use on the card or type in your own saying. Some choices include "Wishing you a happy life together," "May your marriage be full of blessings," "Congratulations on your wedding day" and "Best wishes for a life full of bliss."
- 5). Place the paper onto the sticky mat of the Cricut machine. Run your hand over the paper so that it adheres to the mat.
- 6). Load the paper so that it's aligned with the Cricut machine.
- 7). Print out the Cricut designs. Gently remove the designs from the contact paper.
- 8). Score a piece of color cardstock to create the base of the card. Make a clean fold down the center of the cardstock. Popular wedding card colors include cream or pastel shades.
- 9). Glue the Cricut paper designs to the front of the card any way that you like. Glue the wording to the inside of the card.
