- 1). Launch a Web browser on your computer.
- 2). Navigate to the "Java Manual Download" Web page (see Resources). Click on "Windows XP, 7 Online," then click "Run." An installer will download and start executing.
- 3). Click "Install" to accept the software license, then unselect "Optional 3rd Party Installations" and click "Next." Follow the installer's prompts. When the installer completes, the Java plug-in will have been installed on your computer.
- 4). Restart your Web browser for the plug-in to be recognized and loaded.
