- 1). Add 2-inches to waist-to-under-knee measurement. Cut off closed end of pillow case according to measurement.
- 2). Look at the pillowcase. Is there a crocheted design such as a Southern Belle on the front? If so, rotate design so it will be on one leg, not centered. Fold in half lengthwise, using the "new" center as the center. If no adjustments need to be made, just fold in half lengthwise.
- 3). Add 2-inches to inseam measurement (adjusted inseam). Cut folded pillowcase, starting from opening, along fold to the adjusted inseam measurement. Unfold. Pillowcase is cut up the center creating legs/ pants.
- 4). Turn pillowcase tube inside out. Turn top edges down to wrong side of fabric. Pin. Using a ½-inch seam allowance, sew.
- 5). Turn sewn edges over again, creating a 1 ½-inch casing for elastic. Pin. Sew, leaving a 3-inch gap in casing center back.
- 6). Cut elastic piece measuring half waist measurement. Connect safety pin to elastic end. Connect other elastic end to casing.
- 7). Feed safety pin/elastic through casing, until the pin/elastic emerges from casing. Pin. Sew ends to fabric. Pants slip on. Make another pair from the second pillowcase.
