- 1). Open your system's Run utility by clicking on the Start menu button and locating the program. The Run utility should appear on the right-hand side of the menu.
- 2). Enter "msconfig" into the Run utility to open the Microsoft Configuration tool. Click on the "Startup" tab at the top of the window. This will bring up a list of programs and services that initiate when your computer is turned on.
- 3). Browse the list of programs to determine which ones you want to remove. Disable programs from starting up when your computer boots by removing the check mark next to the program name.
- 4). Click the "OK" button to save your changes. Restart your computer to allow your new settings to take effect.
