- 1). Develop a theme for your smile gift basket. For instance, who is it intended for and for what occasion? A college grad, a sick person or perhaps a friend celebrating a birthday or anniversary.
- 2). Purchase a basket of your color, shape and size. Take into consideration how much you intend on placing in your basket. You don't want an overly large basket for just a few gift items. Also consider the theme when selecting a shape. For instance, an oval-shaped basket would be best for creating an Easter basket since it has the shape of an egg. The color should also match the theme and recipient as well. For example, you probably don't want to present a sick person with a black basket; instead, you would want to pick a light, warm-colored basket.
- 3). Arrange your gifts in the smile gift basket. Larger items look best in the back with smaller items arranged in a descending order. Pack the basket with a combination of gifts like toys, fruit, a card, jewelry and other items appropriate for the occasion and the recipient.
- 4). Lay a roll of cellophane upon a flat surface. Place the smile gift basket atop the cellophane and wrap the cellophane up around it. Adjust the cellophane until you have enough of it wrapped up around the gift basket. Leave enough excess cellophane at the top for securing it closed. Cut the sheet of cellophane from the roll once you've determined how much is enough to cover your gift basket.
- 5). Bunch the top of the cellophane together directly above the handle of the gift basket. Select a ribbon of your color and tie it around the bunched top of the cellophane to hold it together. Stick a bow to the gift basket if you wish.
