- 1). Click the "Start" button in the Windows task bar and click "Run." Type "appwiz.cpl" (without quotes) and press "Enter" to launch the programs window. Alternatively, click the "Start" button, the "Control Panel," and then click "Add or Remove Programs" to launch the programs window.
- 2). Check the "Show updates" check-box on the top. Scroll down the window and click "Windows Internet Explorer 7." Click "Remove."
- 3). Confirm your selection. The uninstall removes Internet Explorer 7. Restart your computer.
- 4). Click "Start" and click "Run." Type "iexplore" (without quotes) in the open box and press "Enter" to launch Internet Explorer.
- 5). Click the "Help" menu on the top and click "About Internet Explorer." This launches the "About Internet Explorer" window. Check for "6" in the "Version" section. If you see this number, it means you have successfully uninstalled Internet Explorer 7. When you uninstall IE7, IE6 is restores automatically.
- 1). Click "Start" and click "My Documents." Click the "Tools" menu and click "Folder Options." A new dialog box launches.
- 2). Click the "View" tab and then click the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button in the "Advanced Settings" list. Click "OK" to save your changes.
- 3). Click the "Start" and click "Run." Type "%windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe" (without quotes) in the open box and press "Enter" to launch the IE7 uninstaller. Confirm your selection to remove the browser. When prompted, restart your computer.
