- 1). Click the "Start" button and open the "Control Panel." Open "System and Security" and click "Administrative Tools."
- 2). Double-click "Task Scheduler" to open the Task Scheduler utility. Input your password or click "Allow" if you have User Account Control enabled on your system.
- 3). Click "Task Scheduler Library" in the left panel of the "Task Scheduler" window. This opens a list of the scheduled tasks on your system. Scroll through the list of scheduled tasks in the center column and click the "Disk Cleanup" or "cleanmgr.exe" task.
- 4). Click the "Action" menu at the top of the "Task Scheduler" window. Select "Delete" or "Disable." Press "OK" to confirm the action. Click the "File" menu and select "Exit" to close the Task Scheduler. The Disk Cleanup scheduled task is now stopped.
