- 1). Make sure the cover to the winding device remains open while installing the bobbin. Hold the bobbin case in one hand and place the bobbin in so the thread comes off in a clockwise direction.
- 2). Pull the thread through the slot in the case and below the spring. At the end of the spring is a t-shaped slot; the thread should rest here.
- 3). Hold the bobbin case with your thumb and index finger on your left hand. The metal "finger" on the bobbin case should point upwards and fit in a notch in the race cover when you install it.
- 4). Pull the thread to make sure it unwinds properly. If it works, close the hinged cover and close the cover to the winding device.
- 1). Turn the power off, raise the needle to its highest position and raise the presser foot. Place your spool of thread on one of the two reel holder pins.
- 2). Clip the thread into the thread guide on the back of the machine and pull it through the thread tension slot directly above the thread guide.
- 3). Pull the thread down from the thread tension slot on the front side of the machine and hook it around the thread regulator, up to the take up lever, and then down to the thread guide.
- 4). Thread the eye of the needle from front to back.
- 1). Hold the tail end of the upper thread and tap the foot pedal to make one stitch.
- 2). Pull the upper thread to draw the bobbin thread out.
- 3). Draw both threads through the presser foot and clip them into the thread cutter.
