- 1). Blot up as much of the milk as possible, using old towels or a shop vac.
- 2). Pour enzyme cleaner over the milk spot. Follow the application instructions on the enzyme cleaner you purchase. The cleaner must soak all the way to the carpet pad to work.
- 3). Place a plastic bag over the area to keep the carpet wet while the enzyme cleaner is working. Leave the enzyme cleaner on the spot for the length of time recommended on the application instructions.
- 4). Rinse the area with cold water and distilled white vinegar. Use ½ cup of vinegar for every gallon of water. Pour just enough of the solution to cover the stain onto the carpet and use a clean, white cloth to blot it up. Repeat.
- 5). Rinse the area with plain, cold water. Blot dry.
