Company Background

Zum Clean products are made by Kansas City-based Indigo Wild, which has been making products for the body and home since 1996. It specializes in making handcrafted soaps, personal care products, candles, aromatherapy products, pet products, and cleaning solutions with mostly pure essential oils and natural ingredients. Its cleaning product line includes aromatherapy countertop sprays, laundry soaps, all-purpose cleaners, cleansers, and more.

Indigo Wild supports causes related to fighting breast cancer and helping animals, such as the Kansas City Sheltie Rescue. For information about its products, social involvement, and more, check out the company website.

Product Effectiveness

This granite and countertop cleaner cleaned my quartz countertops and tile backsplash really well without leaving any streaking or spotting. I especially liked the earthy frankincense and myrrh scent and also the fact that you can get this product in three other fragrances — orange-bergamot, lavender, and eucalyptus-citrus! I was also pleasantly surprised to find that it did a really nice job of cleaning mirrors, sink fixtures, and more, so it's a great product to use for spiffing up the whole kitchen. You could probably even use it in the bathroom due to its essential oil content, which has inherent antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.

Health & Safety

This non-toxic and naturally-derived product is free of VOCs, ammonia, bleach, sulfates, artificial acids, dyes, petrochemicals, and other harsh ingredients. All of the ingredients are listed on the label, except for the exact essential oils used and the fragrance content, unfortunately. So, if you are sensitive to certain smells and need to check for specific ingredients, this may not be the best green product for you.

No warnings or first-aid measures are stated on the label or the website. The MSDS is not available on the website, either. However, I would think that due to the denatured alcohol content, which is derived from ethanol and any of a number of chemical additives, it would be wise to contact a physician if the product were ingested or came into contact with the eyes.

Environmental Notes

This biodegradable product is packaged in a 100% recyclable plastic spray bottle.

Misc. Notes

Indigo Wild makes other products, such as candles and personal care products, in the same scents as its cleaning products, so if you fall in love with a scent, check them out.

Final Thoughts

This natural product did a great job cleaning countertops, mirrors, and fixtures, and I absolutely loved the deep, rich scent of the frankincense and myrrh. It made me want to try the other scents as well, but I wish the company was more transparent with its ingredients, so it didn't quite deserve a full five-star rating.
