How to Make RisingForce Work on Windows Vista

    • 1). Uninstall Rising Force Online by clicking on the Start Menu, then the Control Panel, followed by "Uninstall a Program" and finally selecting "RF Online" from the list of programs. Getting rid of the old program allows you to get a newer, more compatible version of the RF Online software. While the first version of Rising Force was released before Microsoft's 2007 public release of Vista, newer RF Online installation files have been designed for the Windows Vista Operating System.

    • 2). Go to Rising Force Online's "Downloads" page (see Resources) and click on "RF_Online_Ep2_Setup.exe" to begin downloading the most recent installation file to your desktop. This file should be immediately compatible with Vista even if your old file was unable to automatically update to a compatible state.

    • 3). Double-click on the recently downloaded "RF_Online_Ep2_Setup.exe" file. This will initialize an automatic installation procedure.

    • 4). Follow onscreen directions to complete the automatic process.

    • 5). Open the recently installed Rising Force game. The "game client" will load first, checking for updates---though it is unlikely that any updates will be found since you have just finished installing the most recent version. Once the update check is complete, you can begin playing the game in Windows Vista without any problems.
