- 1). Rinse the mold in water, making sure that all powder residue is cleaned off. Allow the mold to dry.
- 2). Add casting material to water in your mixing container, then stir it with a spoon or mixing stick until it achieves a smooth consistency.
- 3). Pour the casting material into the mold. A small amount of plaster may bulge up over the top of the mold; this is normal.
- 4). Agitate the mold or work surface by tapping firmly on it. This will shake the mold to release air bubbles.
- 5). Let the casting material sit. The amount of time needed to set will vary with the casting material, so follow the instructions on the packaging.
- 6). Scrape excess casting material off the top of the mold with a putty knife. Clean the knife with paper towels and repeat the process until the plaster is even in the mold.
- 7). Allow the casting to set completely, then flex the mold to release the finished product.
- 8). Glue the blocks or wall sections together to create a castle wall.
- 9). Paint your castle wall with acrylic paints. After you've put on the base coat, brush a lighter shade of the base color over the wall to bring out the texture of the raised areas.
