- 1). Apply olive oil to a dry rag. Use your index finger or thumb to massage the olive oil against the paint on the plastic lenses. Rub in a circular, counter-clockwise motion. Move on to Step 2 if any paint remains on the plastic lenses.
- 2). Cover the broad scraping end of the plastic putty knife with a dry rag. Use the plastic putty knife to scrape the paint from the plastic lenses. Ensure that the dry rag is acting as a buffer between the plastic putty knife and the plastic lenses. Move on to Step 3 if any paint remains on the plastic lenses.
- 3). Repeat Steps 1 and 2 except use mineral spirits instead of olive oil. Use a rag to dry the mineral spirits. Do not leave the mineral spirits on the plastic lenses for longer than a few seconds.
