- 1). Squeeze several drops of liquid dish detergent onto the paint stain.
- 2). Rub with your fingers or by rubbing the fabric against itself. You can also scrub with an old toothbrush.
- 3). Let the detergent sit on the stain for several minutes.
- 4). Launder the clothing as usual, using warm or cold water.
- 5). Check to make sure stain is gone before drying.
- 1). Turn the clothing inside-out so you can apply stain remover to the other side of the fabric from the spot where the stain is.
- 2). Look on the paint can label to see what solvent is recommended for use as a thinner. If there is no recommended thinner listed, use turpentine.
- 3). Apply a small amount of turpentine to the inside of the clothing on the opposite side from the stain. Let sit for a few minutes.
- 4). Rinse with cold water.
- 5). Launder in cold or warm water.
- 6). Check to make sure stain is completely gone before drying. Repeat all steps as necessary.
