- 1). Soak up as much of the blood as possible with a paper towel.
- 2). Dip a washcloth in cold water and ring it out. It should be wet but not soaked. Too much water can run, taking the blood with it and contaminating other areas of the wood.
- 3). Dab at the blood stains with the wet washcloth and gently scrub back and forth. Use a dry washcloth to dab the areas dry after you have scrubbed away as much as you can. Do not let the water sit on the wood or it will stain it.
- 4). Dip the washcloth into hydrogen peroxide if the cold water did not remove all of the stain. Repeat the procedure of dabbing and lightly scrubbing the stain with the peroxide. Rinse the cloth and wood with cold water. Use a second washcloth to dry the area.
- 5). Repeat this process with bleach on lighter wood. If you have darker wood, only use bleach if it is worth staining the wood to remove the stain. It can leave a lighter spot that is less noticeable on light-colored wood.
