- 1). Apply heat to the baked-on Mylar tape with a hair dryer that is set to its highest setting. Continue heating until the tape is hot to the touch.
- 2). Pour acetone over the baked-on Mylar tape. If you do not want to pour the acetone and would like a more controlled form of application, apply the acetone to a towel, sponge, or other absorbent material and then rub it over the Mylar tape.
- 3). Thoroughly rub the acetone into the Mylar tape with paper towels or a rag. Continue this process until all the Mylar tape has been removed.
- 4). Clean any acetone residue with paper towels. Inspect the area when you are done to make sure everything is clean.
- 5). Dispose of your waste in a safe receptacle that is not close to a heat source since acetone is highly flammable.
