- 1). Turn the gas shut-off valve on.
- 2). Place and hold the gas control in the ignition position. In most gas fireplace models, this is done by simply pushing the gas control knob in and holding it in place. In other models, you must turn the control knob to the ignition position.
- 3). Test to see if the air has bled out once every few minutes. Press the ignition button on the fireplace repeatedly for 5 seconds. If the gas does not ignite into a flame, release the ignition button. Keep the gas control knob in the ignition position and try again in another minute or so.
- 4). Release the gas control knob 10 seconds after the pilot light is lit.
