- 1). Place the clutch handle in the upward position so it is disengaged. The clutch handle is on the left side of the mixer as you look at it from the rear.
- 2). Grasp the starting rope and pull it swiftly to start the mixer. The starting rope and handle are on the right side of the mixer as you look at it from the rear and looks like a lawnmower starter rope. Allow the engine to warm up and idle evenly.
- 3). Grasp the clutch handle and pull it to the right and down to engage the clutch. This action starts turning the paddles in the drum to mix materials.
- 4). Pour the water into the mixer for the amount needed to mix the mortar less 1 1/2 gallons of water. The specifications of water to mortar mix are on the bag of dry mortar mix.
- 5). Open the bags of mortar mix and slowly pour it into the mixer at a rate of about one cubic foot per each 15 seconds. Let the mixer work until the consistency is a soft and lump-free mixture.
- 6). Slowly add the remaining water to mix in the tub until it reaches the desired consistency.
- 7). Pull the clutch handle up and lock it to the left. Turn the engine off on the mixer.
- 8). Place a box or container on the right side of the mixer. Grasp the handle at the front of the mixing bin and rotate it toward the right. The mortar mix will pour out into the container or box to carry to the area of use.
