- 1). Pour a stiffening solution for lace or fabric, available at craft stores, into a bowl. As an alternative, mix a solution of liquid starch or white glue and water. The dilution of the solution depends on the stiffness desired. A thicker solution will result in a stiffer end product.
- 2). Immerse the lace in the solution until is completely saturated.
- 3). Remove the lace and place it on a pinnable surface that will hold the shape desired. Let the lace dry on a cardboard surface to stiffen it flat or on a Styrofoam wig head to make it stiffen curved.
- 4). Pin the edges of the lace in the form desired to hold it in place while it dries.
- 5). Allow to dry completely and remove.
