- 1). Place a standing thermometer in your toaster oven. While you can set your toaster oven's temperature, these temperature gauges aren't always accurate. The thermometer ensures that you have an accurate reading throughout the entire curing process.
- 2). Remove a rack from the toaster oven and turn the heat up between 300 and 325 degrees. Wait until the thermometer reaches this temperature. Again, since toaster ovens have some temperature inaccuracies, you may need to adjust the heat until the thermometer reads at least 300 degrees.
- 3). Hook your jigs to the bottom of the oven rack so they dangle downward. Slide the rack back into the toaster oven.
- 4). Set an egg timer between 40 and 45 minutes. This gives the paint enough time to bond with the jig. Turn off the toaster oven after the egg timer goes off.
- 5). Remove the jigs immediately and lay them out on a towel to cool down. Do not leave the jigs inside the oven after turning off the power since the remaining heat can still bake the paint.
- 6). Check the strength of the cured paint by dropping a jig onto a hard surface. None of the paint should chip or crack if cured properly. Place the jigs back in the toaster oven for several minutes if chips or cracks appear.
