- 1). Spread a generous amount of sealer remover over the surface of your tiles and grout between the tiles with a clean cloth. Don’t add water to the remover as it should be used at full strength.
- 2). Let the remover rest on the sealer for five to 10 minutes to soften the sealer. Work sooner than five minutes, if necessary, to avoid the remover drying out on the tile or grout.
- 3). Rub the area with a nylon scrub pad to lift the softened sealer residue from the tile and grout surface. Add more remover and let it rest if the sealer isn’t loosening. Continue to work the scrub pad until all of the old sealer is loosened.
- 4). Wipe the area with a damp sponge, rinsing the sponge clean as often as needed, until all of the loose sealer residue is removed from the floor.
- 5). Wash the surface of the tile and grout with water and a clean cloth to remove any excess sealant remover. Pat or wipe the area dry with a third cloth.
