- 1). Unplug the coffee maker and wait for the unit to cool before cleaning.
- 2). Remove the funnel. Above the funnel is the spray head. Twist off the spray head with your fingers and set it aside.
- 3). Insert the deliming tool into the spray head tube. Hold onto the last two inches of the tool while sliding the tool in and out several times to loosen any lime deposits inside the tube.
- 4). Examine the spray head holes for white flakes or mineral deposits and clean the holes with a toothpick to clear them.
- 5). Wash the spray head with mild detergent and rinse. Replace the spray head onto the unit.
- 6). Plug in the coffee maker and allow 15 minutes for the water in the tank to reheat before using.
- 1). Place the empty funnel into position and an empty decanter on the hot plate. Lift the lid and pour one quart of white vinegar into the unit. Shut the lid to start the flow and empty the decanter when the vinegar stops flowing. Keep the coffee maker plugged in for two hours.
- 2). Remove the plug from the wall socket and remove the funnel. Unscrew the spray head with your fingers and clean the spray head with a mild detergent and rinse.
- 3). Pour a full decanter of fresh water into the coffee maker. Replace the funnel and set the decanter on the plate base. Close the lid to start the flow of water. Empty the decanter when the water stops flowing and repeat this process about 8 to 10 times.
- 4). Replace the spray head and run several decanters of fresh water through the coffee maker until all the vinegar is gone.
- 5). Set the decanter on the plate and plug in the coffee maker. The water needs to reach brewing temperature before using.
- 1). Unplug the coffee maker from the wall socket. Remove the funnel and the spray head from the unit.
- 2). Pour a full decanter of cold water into the top of the coffee maker. Set the decanter on the plate and shut the lid to start the flow of water. Remove the decanter when the water flow has stopped and empty the decanter. Repeat this step and set the decanter aside.
- 3). Hold the coffee maker upside down over the sink and dump out the water. Hold it in this position until all the water is gone.
- 4). Replace the spray head, funnel and decanter and shut the lid.
- 5). Plug the coffee maker into the wall socket.
